Press - Great sounds set for Aldershot’s Palace
Posted In [Press Reports]
GOOD news for music lovers. The Palace in Aldershot is re-opening this spring as a new live concert venue.
The Palace returns to its original name from when it opened way back in 1912 as The Picture Palace Theatre.
Restored to its former glory as a 700- capacity auditorium, the venue has a fully glass fronted circle overlooking the stage, with a VIP bar and leather sofas for those who want a bit more luxury on their concert night out.
The Palace’s return is marked with an amazing line up of concerts and club nights.
The opening night, on Friday, April 30, is bound to be a sell-out with mod legend Bruce Foxton and From The Jam playing all the classic Jam tracks everyone knows and loves. A week later, on May 7, indie rockers Young Knives take to the stage for the first time in nearly a year, followed a day later by Mark E Smith and The Fall, who are debuting their new album Your Future Our Clutter.
Each of these events will be followed by an exclusive after-show party, so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Also lined up are Sterotonics and Oasish, Eddie and The Hotrods, Brand New Heavies, Blondied and The Counterfeit Police, The Beat and Neville Staples Band, and Boot Led Zeppelin, to name a few.
The venue will also host the area’s biggest club nights with top DJs and the best sound and lighting system in town after the bands’ finish their sets. Some top acts that will be performing on selected club nights include K-Klass and D:Ream.
Most live nights will start at 7.30pm and finish by 10.45pm so plenty of time to get the last train home. Full details of events and tickets can be found at www.thepalacevenue.com or by phoning the ticket line on 08444 771000.
