DURING his time with The Jam Bruce Foxton recorded some of British musicís most iconic bass lines.
A Town Called Malice and Start took their place among anthems for the post-punk generation and Foxton, along with Paul Weller and drummer Rick Buckler, became A-listers in the nationís collective memory.
The Jam split in 1982 and the fallout caused a rift between Foxton and Weller which has only recently been healed.
After a 15-year stint with Stiff Little Fingers Foxton formed From the Jam in 2007, originally for a quick trip down memory lane but their mix of The Jamís hits and new songs has kept the band busy ever since.
From The Jam got together with Rick Buckler on drums and his decision to leave the band in 2009 was a blow quickly acknowledged by Foxton and guitarist Russell Hastings.
Bruce Foxton said: ďBoth Russ and myself are sorry that Rick has decided to leave. I want to personally thank him for the very special time we shared both on and off stage. FTJ will continue onwards.Ē
Big Country sticksman Mark Brzezicki was recruited and the band continued to deliver high octane performances which were always a trademark of The Jam.
